It was a normal day at work, in the afternoon, when Shawn's teacher comes to tell me something. Mrs. Paden doesn't usually seek me out to tell me things about Shawn in the middle of the afternoon. She started with, "Sorry to bug you but I just had to tell you what your son said today in class." Barely holding in the laughter she continues with "Shawn shared with all our first graders that you guys got another horse and it got laid so now you'll have a baby horse!"
I've absolutely NO idea where it came from! Mrs. Paden said it was hillarious because it was so matter of fact, but she was certain that he didn't know what he was saying.
Apparently Shawn is not at all bashful in his classroom and the principal, jokingly, asked me yesterday what sex ed. program am I teaching at home? It has been great comic relief. Incidentally, no, we did not get another horse! When I asked Shawn why he thought we were getting another horse he told me, "I didn't know what to say that was exciting so I made something up, another horse would be exciting mom!"

Oh, my, gosh! I would have died, or tried to come off as casual as Shawn. Of course, I don't know if you could call what horses do getting "laid" it looks more like getting attacked!
Rod said that with us and we about died laughing. What a hilarious story. I think Shawn has a great imagination. I least he knew he was making it up. One to put down as most embarrassing moment.
