Today was career day for Shawner. I was really surprised when he told me that he wanted to be an Elephant Trainer! I was thinking maybe a builder or a cowboy that catches the cows. I asked him what made him want to do that when he grew up and he told me he really liked that show we watched about the guy who trained the elephants. It was a documentary I was watching on PBS one night flipping through channels. Apparently it has left an impression. It wasn't a trainer, but a photo-journalist who has been following this herd of elephants for 15 years. His photos are amazing! Last night we had a meeting with all the kids & parents to finalize some arrangements for our trip. Everyone is so excited!! I've been looking up all the places on the Internet to know a little history before we get over there. It's been so amazing, and overwhelming to think about all the sites that we'll be covering. Definitely an opportunity of a life time!
