Ok…Ok…Ok…yes I’m here and haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth. I went back to work in October as a Special Ed. Aide at Twin Bridges School. I love it! We moved into a little rental in Twin in November. Moving is always an adventure and this was no exception. After leveling floors, painting, laying new carpet, freezing pipes in the attic that exploded with a flood, getting the cats to quit crawling in the house through any little hole they could find it’s a cozy place for us to be.
Shawn has now finished up Kindergarten and is enjoying his summer! He’ll come to Twin with me next year. It was interesting having Rod, Shawn and I in three different school districts and it will be nice to not have to coordinate so much. So far this summer Shawn has finished up T-Ball, gone to a basketball camp and helped his daddy a lot. He has mastered a “two wheeler” bike and loves to ride the horses bare back and “saddle back”.
Rod is busy with basketball camps, and doing fundraisers for the Spanish Club. His kids saw pictures from our trip to Europe and decided that they had to go too. We are going again in 2010. Their latest fundraiser is a TNT Fireworks stand set up in Whitehall. He has also been working with the horses and rides everyday.
I’m working in Virginia City at an ice-cream place. We make all our ice cream and get to dress in period clothing. Virginia City and Nevada City are old mining towns and through the summer they do a lot of “Living History” events. It’s pretty fun to talk with the tourist and usually they are very pleasant…on vacation and buying ice cream!
Shawn loved T-Ball. He had a chance to meet some of the kids from Twin Bridges that he'll be in school with next year.
The basketball camp was at the school where Rod teaches. He was helping out and Shawn was excited that he was old enough to go to Little Torjans.
